 Free Evaluation
The process starts with a free evaluation of your item or collection by one of our appraisers, either in person or based on pictures.
For an in-person evaluation with one of our specialists: please by email to schedule a private appointment, or feel free to walk-in to our company by appointment.
You can send images: Email images, along with the dimensions of the piece, and any other helpful information (signatures, marks, condition, medium). Or submit our consignment form. If the item is something we could sell successfully in our market and you agree on the sales terms , consign with us, we will give you a Receipt and Consignment Agreement (pls download here) listing the details about the price at which you will be prepared to sell your item or items. Our specialist will discuss your sale requirements with you and record these on the Receipt and Consignment Agreement. This document is important because it is your instruction to us to sell. It is your contract with UPA, specifying the sale terms, and your receipt for the property you have consigned. The form carries your personal reference number for that particular consignment. **Since UPA held different auctions at least four to six times per year, plus some special collection auctions two times per year, Besides, our specialists are very experienced at placing items in the right auctions and they will advise you on the most appropriate auction for your item. you never have to wait long to see your property offered for sale. The commission rate (the percentage we charge for our services) depends on factors such as the value of the item ( hammer price) . Our rates are highly competitive.

Packing & Transport
If your items are bulky or heavy, or you have a large collection that would be difficult to bring to us, we can arrange for pickups by our own art handlers. We will carefully and professionally pack your items and transport them to our secure, climate-controlled warehouse in our own custom-equipped, padded vans. Since we pack and move your property ourselves, you avoid the risk of breakage, and the expense, incurred by employing third party movers.  If you are consigning goods from overseas, shipping charges, taxes and import duties may apply. Some countries apply import and export regulations for some types of goods. It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with these. You should take particular note of export licensing and CITES (endangered species) export / import regulations. Please contact UPA in advance if you have any doubts on what to do.

Photography & Cataloging
After your items arrive in our offices our in-house photography department will photograph them for our online and print catalogues, live auction websites, advertisements and brochures. We catalogue each item with full descriptions, condition reports and estimates. To attract as much interest in your item as possible, we include multiple images and notes citing book and periodical references, illustrations, and historical background whenever applicable.

UPA in-house advertising and marketing department takes advantage of the latest advancements in marketing to promote your items, conducting an extensive national and international campaign using a variety of media. Your items receive wide online exposure on our websites. In addition, we run print media ads in a variety of newspapers and magazines targeting collectors and the trade. Prior to each auction we mail a full-color printed brochure and send an email announcement to our active buyers on our private mailing list.

Realizing the Highest Price for Your Item

To maximize the number of competing bidders, and set the stage for realizing the highest price for your items, we offer several different ways to preview and bid in our auctions. Potential buyers may preview items on our website several days in advance of the auction, or in person on auction day at the showroom, or they may arrange private previews at our offices, where they benefit from the full attention of one of our specialists. We regularly attract around hundred participants to our showroom, while some of them from across the country and thousand more around the world bid through the simultaneous webcast at internet platform, such as and Invaluable/Auction Zip. We also offer telephone and absentee bidding as a further convenience.

We pay our consignors faster than the competitors, with a settlement date of 21 working days after transaction completed between the buyer and UPA . Sales proceeds are distributed by check or wire, along with a detailed sales summary.
We aim to make the process as easy as possible for you. We offer more flexibility than the competition, and can tailor our services to meet your individual needs. Please call us anytime if you have any questions.


UPA bears all the normal costs of advertising and promotion. In some cases, however, we – or you – may believe there is a need for additional advertising. If this is the case, we will discuss it in detail with you and then plan a specific advertising campaign and put it into effect.

If you would like to re-sell your items in a future auction you can do so indeed, if you would prefer not to re-sell your items, we will return the items to you WITHOUT any charges, except if you need us to pack and send back to you , then there are some handling cost and freight cost will be occurred.
